How do I book a Funchal Charming Apartment?
Booking your holiday accommodation with us is simple. Email us with your intended dates and details. We will get back to you by email in less than 24 hours to discuss specifics and to confirm rates, availability and booking terms. To confirm the booking, a 50% down payment of your total stay cost is required. Guests are required to pay the balance a week prior to checking in.
How do I confirm my Funchal Charming Apartment is booked?
As soon as we've received your initial payment, we'll notify you via email. You will be provided with the relevant contact details so you can let us know what time you're arriving on your check in date.
How do I pay?
You can pay via bank transfer or through PayPal (with a 3.5% charge).
If I can’t go, do I get a refund?
The initial payment is non-refundable. However, if you do need to change dates, this can be done 2 months before your scheduled holiday (subject to availability and a 20% fee of the total stay).
Are babies/children welcome?
Yes, they are very welcome. We provide a baby cot and a high chair free of charge.
Do children pay as an extra person?
Can more guests stay in the Funchal Charming Apartments than specified at booking?
No, any additional guests need to be discussed with us prior to arrival.
Are pets allowed in our Funchal Charming Apartments?
In general, pets are not allowed.
Is smoking allowed in our Funchal Charming Apartments?
We have a no smoking policy indoors. While ashtrays are provided in our Funchal Charming Apartments, we expect guests to smoke outside on the balconies - never inside the apartment.
How can I reach the apartment after landing at Madeira Airport?
There are four alternatives:Private Transfer –
Recommended by us is a professional and very helpful transfer company which charges €30 (an out-of-hours extra fee may apply). This method makes things easy upon arrival, as you will be brought to the location and shown around, with any questions you may have answered. You pay directly to the company.
The Aero-bus offers a frequent express bus service between the airport and Funchal. Prices (as of April 2013) are €5 per adult and €2,50 for children.

The airport taxi rank is located outside arrivals. Just look for the yellow cars with blue stripes and a 'TAXI' sign on top. Prices are around € 25/30 one-way plus extra for luggage. For more information, please check at http://www.anam.pt/taxis-madeira-en-US
What time is check in and check out?
Check in is after 14.00 and check out before 11.00.
Can we leave our bags with you if we arrive early?
Yes. If you know that you're arriving between 11:00-14:00, tell us and you can choose to use our free bag drop service, rather than checking-in after 14:00. We meet you at the home, so you can then get the keys, drop your bags and then leave the home whilst we continue to prepare it. You can then return any time after 14:00. It's a great chance to start exploring the local neighbourhood where you'll be staying.
Do you offer an early check-in?
If you're arriving between 07:00–14:00, we can offer you an early check-in. In these cases we block the home off to all other bookings the day before your arrival, so we have enough time to clean and prepare it the night before your check-in. This is subject to home availability and charged at 75% of the cost of the nightly rate of your booking.
What about a late check-in?
If you're arriving between 22:00-08:00, you can check-in for an additional € 25. Please let us know before your stay. If you have booked our airport transfer service this charge is waived.
And if we need to, can we check out late?
Yes, although you will have to have left by 20:00. This is subject to availability and will cost 75% of the nightly rate of your booking.
How do I get the keys of the Funchal Charming Apartments?
Just let us know your flights details, the means by which you are getting to the apartments from the airport and provide us a (mobile) contact number.
What exactly is ‘Meet & Greet’?
After check in, if I have a query or need to solve a problem in the apartment, what should I do?
Do I need to bring bed linen and towels?
No, we provide a set of towels for the number of guests that will stay at the property. Bedding is provided for all beds on the premises. There's also a washing machine for your private use.
Are meals/beverages included?
No. Funchal Charming Apartments are self-catering, but conveniently located close to shops and restaurants for anything you need.
Are there hairdryers?
There is a hairdryer in each of our Funchal Charming Apartments.
What about the cleaning?
Cleaning is included before arrival, once a week and after departure.
If you are staying more than a week, cleaning times will be pre-arranged with our concierge team. Guests are expected to leave the apartment as if it were their own.
What about the disabled access?
Our Funchal Charming Apartments are equipped for the elderly and for people with limited mobility. Both apartments are accessed by lifts and, at the Old Town Flat, there is a bathroom equipped for disabled guests.
Is the tap water safe to drink?
Yes the tap water is safe to drink and there is no need to buy bottled water if you don't want to.
How do I leave the apartment at check out?
Please leave the key inside the flat at 11am or before if your flight is earlier and close the door behind you. If you require an airport transfer, let us know and we will happily arrange this.
